Summer is officially in full swing here at the beach. It seems like all the July races have had great turn outs and like the Christmas in July race I participated in there have been plenty of Michael Wardian sightings! I always think it is cool when such an accomplished runner also takes the time to run our local beach races. Most recently a student where I teach was able to pull out a slight victory over Wardian. While the majority of the student’s friends, teachers and other staff members at the school may not fully understand the great accomplishment the local running community does. You can check out the article in the Cape Gazette by using this link. It makes me so proud to see students working hard for something they really want- especially over summer break.
While the temps and humidity have been in full force, it has not stopped the runners from coming out to run the beach races. With the last real month of summer upon us, here is where you can toe the line throughout the month of August.
