I know February is a short month but it seemed like it flew by extremely fast this year. Traditionally it is always my busiest month at school and I am happy to say I survived! This month, like last was filled with runs, a NEW ambassadorship that I am very excited about, and even a beach day- yes in February!
Running: This month I logged 62.2 miles on 14 runs- so extremely close to last month’s stats. Through the week I have consistently been meeting another mother runner to log 3 very early morning miles (typically starting around 4:50 am) twice to three times a week. Having an accountability partner has been my key to success because I never thought I would be able to consistently log these morning runs.
Along with the morning runs I also did a group run each weekend with ladies from the Delmarva Moms Runs This Town group. We were able to run in some pretty unbelievable weather in some beautiful locations. To start the month we took to the trails of Trap Pond, ran the boards in Ocean City, Maryland and I ended the month with a run through the Fresh Water Pond Trail. I feel so spoiled to have such beautiful places to log my runs throughout the year!
NEW Ambassadorship: A while back I applied to be a Feetures! ambassador very unsure if I would hear anything back. Much to my surprise I heard back and they accepted me to be part of their ambassador team! I am very excited for this opportunity as I LOVE their socks! I first learned about Feetures! socks when I received a pair from a Zooma event. They were so soft and comfortable I knew they would be my new go-to running sock! Be sure to check them out and stay tuned maybe even for a giveaway from me sometime in the near future!
Paid Runs/ Found Change: Since most of my runs are now in the dark, finding change has been a little harder. I was able to spot a penny one early morning run which I was super pumped about. To total things up, I found 88 cents this month while out logging miles! That brings my YTD found change total to: $2.15!!
Beach Day: Like I mentioned before February pretty much showed the Ground Hog who is the boss and gave us some very-spring like weather this month. It was absolutely amazing and I was grateful that the nice weather stuck around on the weekends as well! One weekend I tried to take the kids to the boardwalk but it was too crowded and we left- I mean it is February! Yes, I run into this issue in the summer but never in February! Instead of battling the crowds on the boardwalk we took to the beach and played and relaxed. It was pretty cool to see all the people out on the beach that day as well!
What is coming up next: March brings my first race of the year! The Tim Kennard is always one of my favorites and that takes place this weekend! Along with the Ten Miler, I will also be running my first half marathon of the year which is in Dallas with my best friend! If you are looking for a March Race be sure to check out my March race round-up!
How did February go for you? Did you find any change this month? Run or register for any races? Are you having amazing “winter” weather like us in Delaware?
