I feel like it was just yesterday that I was putting together my Memorial Day Race Round-Up and here we are now looking at Labor Day Races! The time period between these two Holidays just goes by way too fast but that may because it is filled with so much fun!
As Labor Day is only a week away I wanted to share with you some races going on in and around the area. There are quite a few to choose from so find one or two that fits your calendar and RUN!
- Thursday, September 1st: Run, White & Blue 5k. This is taking place at Del Tech in Georgetown with registration starting at 5:00 pm. You read about all the details on my most recent blog post.
- Saturday, September 3rd: 26th Last Blast Prediction 5k. This race marks the end of the Seashore Striders Summer Series and takes place in Rehoboth Beach, starting at Grove Park at 7:30 am. It is a prediction run so you are not supposed to wear or use any GPS devices, but instead guess the time it will take you complete the race!
- Sunday, September 4th: Summers End 5k. This race is part of the Ten Sisters Race Series put on by Races2Run. Registration starts at 7:00 am at Jimmy’s Grille with the race starting at 8. As always, stick around for a fun after party celebrating summers end!
- Monday, September 5th: Rylie’s Dog Days of Summer 5k.Rylie’s Dog Days of Summer 5k. This is one of two options for Labor Day Monday. Rylie’s 5k takes place in Lewes at the American Legion. The race starts at 8 am with registration opening at 7. The other Monday race option is BrainStrong 5k that takes in Camden Wyoming, Delaware at the Wild Quail Club House. The race starts at 9:00 am with a free kiddie race at 8:50. One amenity of this race is that they offer child care! This is perfect for Mom’s like me that don’t always love pushing the stroller to run! Be sure to check out more of the details on the TriSports website.
With 5 possible races to run in over the Holiday weekend I hope you find at least one to participate in as the summer winds down. Do you have a favorite Labor Day Weekend Race?
