June was such a busy month! We finished up the school year and ran straight into summer activities. We found a new favorite “beach” location, have been enjoying library story time, and visiting the local farmer’s markets. Running was going pretty well until pneumonia showed up and since then (and still now) I’ve been sitting on the sideline.
Total Miles: 67.7 for a total of 467.3 for the year
Fun places I ran: To kick off the month of June I met up with the Eastern Shore Running Club to celebrate National Running Day! We ran through the Salisbury City Park. I always like mixing things up and running somewhere that is not my usual course. I also was able to log some runs through the Bayside- one of which was one of our first Delmarva Mom’s Run This Town group runs.
My latest find was a quarter at the grocery store. I guess the perks of getting up early and going to the store at 5:45 AM-you can spot dropped change on the ground!
Races I ran:
Favorite thing about running this month:
I was really excited to start our Delmarva Moms Run This Town group runs! Even though I have only been able to attend two of them, I love that we (Amy and myself) have gotten the ball rolling and actually have group runs planned throughout the week for other runners to come join us!
Other exciting news is that I am again part of the A-Team! Last year I was selected as an Annapolis Running Classic Ambassador and I was lucky enough to be selected again this year! As you all know I love this race (Why you should sign up for the ARC) and if you sign up using the code KRISTEN16 before July 15th you can save 15%! After the 15th the code will work for 10% off! This race has a BEAUTIFUL course, a great premium and a rocking after party!
Longest run of the month:
Zooma Half Marathon was my longest run of the month. Other than that my longest run was 6 miles. I am hoping to log some longer miles once I am 100% better and the humidity drops a little.
What’s in store for the next month:
The July calendar has nothing planned running wise. I was interesting in the Buffalo Stampede but I have yet to commit and sign up. You can read about Courtney’s recap or visit the website for more information. Richmond Marathon Training will also start later this month. I am still deciding between doing a Heart Rate Training plan through Garmin or a regular plan from Runkeeper.
I am looking forward to getting back to group runs, track workouts and stroller walks with the littles. In the meantime I will also gladly enjoy sweet beach cuddles.
