Friday Five: Quick & Easy Dinners

Today I am linking up with Cynthia, Courtney & Mar for the Friday Five! This week’s topic is Food and Drinks- What fun! I figured since most of you are like me and always in a crunch to “do it all” I thought I would share with you my five favorite quick and easy dinner recipes. These are typically my go-to dinners and plan to make them, especially if I know I have a busy week ahead!

One Pot Garlic Parmesan Pasta. This is as easy and delicious as the name sounds. I found this one on Pinterest and I highly suggest you try it out! The best part is that you can add anything to it and it only makes it better! I have added vegetables (Asparagus, Zucchini) and another time I added some grilled chicken that I had left over from another meal! You could easily add in shrimp as well! We also sprinkle (or maybe dump would be a better word) a lot of old bay on top, just for some extra flavor.

Roast Beef Roll ups with Au Jus. To be honest I am not sure how I either found this one or maybe I came up with it, but here it is! It is easy and quick to make! You can also let the kids help with this one!

  • Open and separate the crescent rolls from the package.
  • In a crescent roll, put a small amount of horseradish cream sauce, a little bit of shredded provolone cheese, and a slice or two of roast beef inside. Roll it up the best you can to make an individual crescent roll up.
  • Bake the roast beef crescent roll ups in the oven as stated on the crescent package.
  • While the crescents are cooking, make au jus according to the package.
  • To eat (yes this is the most important part) dip the crescents into the au jus to get the full flavor experience!

BBQ CrockPot Chicken! Again another Pinterest recipe that I have shared on my blog before. I love making this recipe on a Sunday afternoon and having the shredded, delicious chicken for dinner either Monday or Tuesday. This BBQ chicken is delicious with a side of coleslaw and a roasted sweet potato! 5 Stars from the Jones Household on this one! One side note- get really nice rolls for this. It just makes everything even better!

Italian Crescent Casserole. I do not even like using the word casserole when talking about this recipe. It is not casserole like at all and is just downright delicious. To quickly give you the run down here is how you make this bad boy: Take your crescent and make it like a crust in your round pie dish. Brown your ground beef and throw in a jar of tomato sauce. You can add in any other favorites like onions or mushrooms as well. Once your meat sauce is done, pour it in the crescent crust and then sprinkle some parmesan cheese on top. Neatly fold over the edges of the crescent roll to make a top crust for your casserole. Bake and enjoy!

Taco Nachos. This is exactly what it sounds like. Tacos made even easier! I typically end up crunching up my taco shells to make a taco salad,so one night when I was out of taco shells, but had plenty of tortilla chips I made taco nachos! Everyone in the house loved this and the kids asked for more! While this is not a “new” recipe by any means it is simply a twist on the original- tacos! We load up our taco nachos with lots of lettuce, guacamole, hot sauce and any other toppings we find appropriate that we can find in the house! This way of having tacos seems to be less messy and just more fun!

What is your favorite quick and easy week night recipe? I would love to add more to my arsenal as lately I have felt bored and uninspired!
