This month seemed really long to me. Here is a breakdown of how things went:
Total Miles: 103
Considering last month I only ran 53, I was pumped to double my mileage. Nothing crazy to report here.
Fun places I ran: I did find myself running in a lot of different places this month. Some of my top favorites were Gordon’s Pond, Trap Pond, and the Assawoman Canal Trail + Fresh Pond Trail. I love taking advantage of the Delaware State Parks! One other special run was in St. Michaels, where I got to meet up with my Best Running Friend (Lacee) who moved to the other side of the bridge. This was the first time we got to run together and it was great to catch up and log a few miles! My heart was happy after that run!
I did also take things over to the local track for a workout. I went with my standby track workout that goes like this:
-1 mile warm up
-3:00 minute recovery
-repeat x 6
-Cool down: How ever long it takes me to walk/slow run back home
Amount of change I found this month: 47 Cents!! That brings me to a total of $1.49 this year! I only have hundreds of dollars more until I can buy that Garmin I have been obsessing over.
Races I ran:
Tim Kennard 10 Miler. It was a great, fun run for me! I also scored some pretty awesome finish line photos!
Olive 5k: 26:53 This is actually my fastest 5k ever. To bad it was not a real race and only a virtual but now I really have a good time to beat the rest of the virtual series!
Favorite thing about running this month: This month my favorite thing was definitely meeting up with Lacee for a run and lunch. No words can describe it — it was just truly a perfect afternoon! Somehow I did not take any pictures?? Guess we were too busy talking. We also had a great late lunch at Ava’s! Lacee and I plan on meeting “halfway” more often so if you have any suggestions of where we can meet on Route 50 to run let us know!!
Longest run of the month: All my long runs of the month were with fellow Mother Runner Amy. We ran the Tim Kennard 10-miler together and we hit up the Assawoman Canal Trail and ran over to the Fresh pond Trail for a total of 8+ miles. Today Laura joined us and we ran 7 miles at Trap Pond. Going long is always better with friends!
What’s in store for the next month: April is looking to be a fun race month.
First off tomorrow (APRIL 1st) I will be sitting computer side starting at 11:50 to secure my 5th Dogfish Dash entry (FINGERS CROSSED). It sells out SO quick so if you are planning on entering you need to get your game face on early in the day and be prepped to register right at noon! Last year we did not get to see Sam so he owes us big this year- PLUS it is being held on my birthday!! Woo Hoo bringing in 31 with style and an 8k (hopefully!)
I am registered to run 2- 10 milers in April. I have the Cherry Blossom which takes place this weekend and then another 10 miler later in the month (23rd) in Lewes. I am really looking forward to both!
Another HUGE event for me in April is the Strike Out ALS 5k that I organize! This year it will be on April 30th and take place at Cape Barnes+ Assawoman Wildlife Refuge again! We have lots of great prizes coming in for the finisher’s raffle. Visit this link to sign up and join us for a great event benefiting our local ALS clinic!
