Start out with a little bio about yourself. Tell us about your family, job, any community programs or anything else you are involved with. Also tell us about your Blog!!!

Hello everyone! My name is Molly Sharp. I’m a wife, a mom to a rambunctious 2-year-old boy and a digital copywriter for The Finish Line, an athletic shoe retailer. I’ve been a runner for 12+ years now and ran my first marathon in 2007. Since then I’ve run 7 full marathons and 6 half marathons. I blog over at, where I share my day-today life and struggles with balancing motherhood, marriage and of course marathons!

What are your favorite fitness activities?

Running is my number one fitness activity, but I also love yoga, spinning and step classes. I also chase after my toddler and—as every parent knows—I do lots of carrying my almost 30 lb little man, which is a great arm workout 🙂


I have to agree- toddlers get heavy so fast! At least they help tone those arm muscles! Looks like Molly keeps things interesting with all types of workouts. I must admit that is one area I am slacking- I need to get back into the gym participating in different classes!

How do you fit your work outs into your everyday routine?

Sometimes I have to beg, borrow and steal to get my workouts in! I try to get up early before work, or I squeeze runs in at lunchtime or late at night after the kiddo has gone to bed. Now that it’s nice outside, we also go for evening runs, which serve multiple purposes. I get to run, little man gets to relax and car/animal watch, and we get to chat (and by chat I mean he points at everything and tells me what he sees!).

How do you stay so hot? What are your favorite fitness apps, equipment or class that you absolutely love and cannot live without?

 My favorite fitness tools are my jogging stroller, my treadmill and my Garmin! Without the first two, I wouldn’t be able to run half as many miles as I do. I also love my ab carver pro—that thing will get your abs ripped! Jari Love DVDs ( are my absolute favorite workout DVDs. She combines high intensity cardio on the step with high rep/low weight strengthening moves. I’m usually shaking by the end of one of her workouts.



Thank goodness for the invention of jogging strollers! Morning workouts and a jogging stroller seem to be a lot of Hot Mom;s go-to items! As for those workout DVD’s that whole workout so hard your are left shaky sounds very interesting! Readers- write that down or go check out what those are all about!

Since you have become a mom, what is your proudest fitness accomplishment?

I have two – is that allowed? I am so proud that I was able to run throughout my entire pregnancy and complete two halves while carrying my son. It’s so cheesy to say, but it’s like we did those races together. I am also proud that since giving birth my times have gotten faster and I finally ran a marathon in under 4 hours.  Becoming a mom has not only made me stronger physically, but mentally! I have a newfound confidence in myself as a person and an athlete thanks to being a mom.


Those two accomplishments are awesome! Running half marathons are not easy so running being pregnant is no joke. Courtney and I both ran a few half marathons while bring pregnant and they will hold special places in our hearts as well!  

What is next for you? Are you working towards a specific goal or running any races?

Next up will be a lot more chasing after my always-on-the-move little guy! As far as racing, my first half of the year is May 16th and I also plan to run a full marathon in the fall. My pie-in-the-sky goal is to qualify for Boston this fall.  I also hope to start racing shorter distances this summer and really working on my inner speed demon!

We hope your half went awesome last week! As for your FULL this fall- you will rock it. Qualifying for Boston is amazing and we have complete confidence if you keep chasing after your little man and working hard you being the Hot Mom you are will rock the race!
