Everytime I go in public the questions I used to love getting with baby #1 (Reagan) now no longer exisist. I loved being asked when my baby was due, if it was a boy or a girl and names we had picked out, but now I am looked at with complete shock that I have a 9 1/2 month old and am pregnant again. It is rare that I get a congrautlations, I usually get a look of a bewilderment and a best of luck thrown my way. I can only imagine what they would think if they knew I would be running the Nike Woman’s Half at the end of the month! I guess what they do not know will not kill them.
My sister and I signed up for the lottery for the half not knowing I was pregnant. My attempt to train has been somewhat difficult due to the fact that I have been lazy, tired and have a job, not to mention a 9 1/2 month old and a husband. I have said that once I finish this race I am going to completely embrace this pregnancy and be as lazy as possible, but what is the fun in that?! I will be a day shy of 29 weeks when I run, or attempt to run, the Nike Half in DC. I can tell you one thing for sure, I WILL be wearing the sh*t out of that Tiffany’s necklace once I cross that finish line!
So far this week I have been able to ramp up some miles, 12.1 to be exact. This is not the norm for me- this is because I am on Spring break and living the life of a SAHM (stay at home mom) with the Husband also around. The week is not over so I am fully expecting to chalk up some more miles!
